Bob Lytle grew up helping his father maintain an 1874 Victorian home in Oregon, Illinois.
At the age of fourteen, he rebuilt the motor in a 1948 Willys Jeep and has been expanding his craftsmanship skills ever since.
After graduating with a B.A. in Fine Art at Washington & Lee University, Bob embarked on a career of carpentry, leading to a focus on home performance, vintage entry doors, and serving as an expert witness.
Career highlights include:
• Licensed Contractor in Virginia for three decades.
• Co-founder of Archadeck, a deck franchise design/build firm operating in 25 states, Japan, Scotland, and England.
• Established the Renovation Carpentry Program at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, and served as Program Director and Professor.
• Served as lead finish carpenter on the renovation of the Virginia Governor's Mansion.
• As a forensic carpenter, Bob has served the judicial process in Virginia as an expert witness since 2000.
• Past president of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), Central Virginia Chapter.
• NARI certified as GCP, a Green Certified Professional.
• NARI Certified as MCR, a Master Certified Remodeler.
